Learning to Lead – Hidden Treasure
Posted in: Camps, Learning To Lead
Hello to all our Learning To Lead Campers, Parents and Volunteers!
The counselors have been hired, the color group bandannas have been ordered, the game show games have been chosen and all we need is YOU! We’ve got a great summer planned. Water games, bowling, Bible studies, awesome worship and don’t forget about counselor trivia and the famous game show!
This year we are going to dive into some “Hidden Treasure” and explore the Parables of Jesus. Jesus has some great lessons for us to learn in the Parables that he shares. Each Parable has within it a secret message or “hidden treasure” for us to learn which will help us grow closer to God. I’m really looking forward to our time together studying God’s Word.
Be sure to check our blog often for upcoming posts, videos and messages from our counselors!
Can’t wait to see everyone – and remember to spread the word about camp to all your friends!
Casey McCollum, Learning to Lead Director
Welcome to the ACU Leadership Camps blog! This blog launch is so exciting for us…and we hope it will be for you as well. We are excited about using some growing technologies to keep our camp families better informed and provide you with more opportunities to offer your feedback on our camps, our processes, and the things that we can do to partner as together we influence a generation of youth to impact the world!
In the coming weeks, our Camp Directors will announce the 2011 themes and give you some insights into each camp session. We will post some footage of our camp-staff-in-training. We will offer some helpful hints about camp preparation and follow up. And we will listen to you…so please feel free to share your thoughts and questions with us as we share this blog space together.
Hopefully, you are already aware of one way in which we are trying to encourage and support our loyal camp families….MARCH MADNESS!!! So many of you regularly recruit new families for us, as well as making it a priority to send your own youth to a Leadership Camp. We appreciate you! We know that the expense of camp is not easy, especially in this challenging economy. We wanted to reward you with an opportunity to benefit from your recruiting efforts….so please check out our MARCH MADNESS details to see how you can earn $50-150 between now and March 31, 2011!
Thank you for your loyal support of ACU Leadership Camps. Even now, we are praying for the campers and volunteers who will attend each session this summer…asking God to move in their hearts and prepare them for spiritual growth that will bless them as individuals but also bless those in their families and communities when they return home. Our vision, as always, is to lead youth to Jesus. Would you join us in this prayer? Please feel free to post your own prayer request for this summer’s campers or a prayer that you have written and want to share. Let’s join together to ask God to amaze us this summer…as He has done so many times in the past.
Jan Meyer, Executive Director
