Full Time Staff

David Moses
Director
David has been the Director of Leadership Camps since 2012 and he oversees all, year-round, camp operations while directing Learning to Lead, MPulse, and Kadesh camp sessions each summer. Since 2018, David has also served ACU as the Associate Dean of Students.
Previously, David served as a Youth Minister for 19 years at various congregations and then as the Lead Pastor at New Heritage Fellowship Church in Allen, TX. He first connected with Leadership Camps in 1996 when he began bringing youth groups to camps and he maintained his connection to Leadership Camps by volunteering throughout these many summers.
The absolute best part of David’s life is his wife Juli, and their children – Emily, Zach, Abbey, her husband Fendri, and their brand new baby Rimba. David can be reached at david.moses@acu.edu

Makayla Kerrigan
Registrar
Makayla has been the Registrar since 2019. She oversees all communication, media, and registration needs that the camp might have along with mentoring and caring for our camp staff.
Makayla also serves as ACU’s Spiritual Life Coordinator - assisting ACU’s Chaplain with daily chapel, systems that help our students succeed with their spiritual walk, and so much more.
Makayla married her husband, Keaton, in January of 2022. They live happily in Abilene with their two pups, Lizzie and Tex.
Volunteers

We seek volunteer applicants for each camp who love the Lord, love young people, and are energetic and creative in living out their faith. Priority is given to Children & Youth Ministers, ministry interns, and adult volunteers who are working with campers from their youth group.
Applications are open each year from March 8 through April 15 and volunteer staff positions are usually finalized by the first of May. ACU Leadership Camps reserves the right to decline any applicant on the basis of camp need, priority, references, or background check.

Our summer staff have proven to be some of the finest college students you could ever hope to meet. Each one is well-trained in meeting the needs of young people and is committed to making a difference… one camper at a time.
Each year we hire around 50 college students to work all of our camps. Specifically, we hire a Leadership Team (head counselors, assistant directors, worship coordinator, and office assistant), a First Aid Team, a Media Team, and Camp Counselors. Applications open each year in early October. After applying, you may be invited to an interview process that culminates with staff hiring at the end of February each year.
Beginning in March of each year, our staff gathers weekly to pray, train, and prepare how to best meet the needs of our campers - both individually and in a group setting. With a focus on making disciples of Jesus, our staff encourages campers as they grow in their faith, build new friendships, and have fun in a safe and supportive environment.
